In 2017, the Friends of Ramona Library (FORL) and The Open Book Store provided over $35,000 to the library for a wide variety of programs, three scholarships to Ramona students graduating from high school, and, of course, books, magazines and DVDs.
Here are a few examples from 2017:
FOR ALL: Monthly concert, local Authors Day, Dia Health Fair, Rodeo Day, weekly Family Movie Matinee
ADULT PROGRAMS: First Fridays programs featuring Oasis life-learning workshops and various other cultural offerings, exercise classes, Adult Literacy tutoring, ESL, Book Club, Adult Chess Club, Art classes
TEEN/TWEENS PROGRAMS: Teen Music Shop, Teen Action Council Meetings, Scholarships, Chess Club, Video Games, Anime Club, Seed Exchange Club, Homework Club
KIDS PROGRAMS: 5 Weekly Storytimes, Preschool Play, Summer Reading Program, Art Classes, Crafts, Summer Meals, Homework Club
In addition to the activities at the library, we awarded college scholarships to three Ramona students graduating from high school.
